"Rickenbacker 481 Slant Fret" in Fireglo, built in 1975, includes a case.
The instrument shown here is available for sale!
Special feature:
From 1974 to 1982, Rickenbacker manufactured the Model 481 with "slanted frets."
The idea behind “Slanted Frets” was to contour the neck to the curve between the thumb and index finger of the player’s left hand. It worked well when the guitarist strummed across the fretboard with his thumb. Its advantages disappeared when playing barre chords. Rickenbacker first produced slanted frets in late 1969.
This guitar also comes with 24 slanted frets, a pickup phase-reversal switch, and two Rickenbacker humbucker pickups. Rickenbacker has equipped it with the deluxe features “triangle inlays” and “body binding.”
To mark Rickenbacker’s 90th anniversary in 2021—39 years after the last 480/481 models were produced—the 480XC model is being built, with a price tag of just under 5,000 euros.
The instrument comes with new strings and features a low string action, making it very easy to play.
About the condition:
The instrument is used.
The instrument shows slight signs of wear consistent with its age. There are a few small scratches here and there, which are clearly visible in the photos.
This is an aftermarket bridge; unfortunately, the original bridge is no longer present. A previous owner had installed a StopTailpiece, and the recessed sleeves are still visible beneath the bridge.
The original truss rods work perfectly.
All of the electronics are untouched and original, just as the guitar left the factory.
