Boden und Zargen aus Koa verleihen der Gitarre kräftige Bässe, warme Mitten sowie Brillanz in den Höhen. Die Koa Decke unterstützt zusammen mit der kurzen Mensur die Dynamik. Der Soundport Cutaway sorgt für einen räumlichen, Reverb ähnlichen Effekt. Als Tonabnehmer kommt das Taylor eigene aktive ES2 dynamische Piezo-System mit Bass-, Höhen- und Lautstärkenregler zum Einsatz.
